“There is so much to tell! Where do I start?”
“My life is not that interesting.”
The secret to a successful memoir is finding the key themes and moments to structure your story around. I have two decades of expertise bringing out the highlights of any story, and I can guide you in pinpointing yours. In our first interviews we will discuss the goals for your memoir and the milestones that marked your experience. We will then settle on a structure that does justice to your life.
“I don’t feel comfortable spilling my secrets to a stranger!”
We will meet for a series of 2-hour interviews. Our conversation will include questions designed to elicit your memories, and I will record your answers. It might seem weird to tell a stranger about your most intimate experiences, but I am confident that I will quickly gain your trust. I approach the interviews with respect and tact. Nothing you tell me will be published in the memoir without your permission. All the recordings are your property and will be given to you at the end of the process.
“What images should I include?”
Working together, we will choose the images that best illustrate your story. Photos, letters, or meaningful documents can be included. I will later collaborate with a professional designer to blend narrative and pictures, and create a beautiful representation of who you are.
“Do I have final say on what goes in the memoir?”
Three full book reviews will ensure that your life is reflected with the richness it deserves.
“What do I do with the book?”
You will have 25 printed books to give to friends and family (more upon request). A ceremony or party where you gather your loved ones and gift them your memoir with a personalized dedication is a moving ritual that befits this special journey.
“I don’t want to remember the difficult challenges of my life.”
Many people who have gone through this journey experience a feeling of emotional fulfillment. The process encourages self-reflection and self-discovery and helps them find consistency and meaning in their life. It also brings them joy to leave the memory of their existence for future generations.
Your memoir will be much more than a book. It will be a beautiful extension of you that will live forever.
